Beach Birthday

After the birthday party with the family, the four of us took off for Daytona Beach for a couple of days.

We went for night walks on the beach with our flashlights. We spotted tons of jellyfish.

This year's birthday theme was Toy Story. This was the first and only movie that the kids have actually seen in the theater. Sydney loves Jessie the cowgirl and Parker loves Woody the cowboy(sheriff). I must admit, I went a little overboard this year with the theme, but once I got started, I couldn't stop. I enjoyed every minute of it! The teacher in me comes out. Makes me realize my creative side again.

Birthday Girl!

Birthday Boy.

Table of treats included Sheriff star cookies, red cowgirl hats cookies and boots. Also there were alien cupcakes and pig cupcakes.

And to stay with the tradition my Grandpa started with me, I made the kids each their own chocolate chip cookie cakes.

Took the kids 4 year birthday pictures again this year and this time I did all my own editing. I think they turned out pretty good for an amateur.

Best Valentines Gift EVER!!

I was talking to Parker about newborn babies . I was explaining that he was attached to Mommy with an umbilical cordattached at his belly button but after he was born they had to cut it off. He asked why and I told them that he couldn't go around being attached to Mommy forever. Then he says You will always be attached to my heart, Mommy and I will always be attached to your heart. You know what that means dont you. That means love Mommy.

After Christmas Vacation

A few days after Chrsitmas, the four of us headed up to the cabin in NC. We met up with my Dad, Barb, Troy, Laura, Alyssa, Tyler and Taylor. They all made it up there the day after Christmas . The morning they arrived, they were unable to drive the mile and a half or so up the mountain to the cabin so at 4am they all had to walk up that mile and a half to the cabin in freezing temperatures, snow falling down, with suitcases and a old cat in tow.

By the time, we arrived the snow had somewhat melted but on out attempt at getting up the mountain, we too were stuck. So my Dad had to come pick us up.

The kids went sledding for the first time and even made a little snowman. We made smores by the fire while we took turns telling ghost stories. A few days after we arrived all the snow was gone. We brought in New Years 2011 in lake Lure, NC, definitely our favorite home away from home.

I like to get creative with our pancakes when holidays come around. The kids really love it.

Christmas 2010

We spent Christmas Eve at Patrick's Dad's house, so good times were spent with our Schmidt family. Parker and Sydney always enjoy visiting their Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt and hanging out with their cousins and Aunt and Uncle too.

As always, we like to wake up in our own house on Christmas morning because that is where Santa comes. They both must have been pretty good because Santa brought them everything on their lists. Top gifts this year, for Sydney....Princess Belle shoes(of course they are yellow..Syd's favorite color)and a talking Jessie doll from Toy Story and for Parker, it was his talking Woody doll from Toy Story(he would not put that things down).

Later on Christmas Day, we went to my Dad and Barb's(aka MeeMaw and Papas)to spend quality time and open gifts.

Nana went to NC to spend Christmas with Aunt Jan and GG and was surely missed here.
